📌 Alloa, Clackmannanshire
★★

Gartmorn Dam is Scotland’s oldest reservoir, constructed in 1713 to supply water for pumps draining a nearby colliery. The waters are an important migration destination for overwintering wildfowl, while paths on all sides are popular with dog walkers and enable good viewing opportunities of the Ochil Hills on a clear day. On a wet one, at least the ducks will be happy even if you’re not.
