St Mirin’s Cathedral

When asked to list Paisley‘s religious attractions, most locals will first think of Paisley Abbey. However, the town also has its own cathedral just to the east, being the centre of the Catholic Diocese of Paisley. St Mirin’s is named after the town’s patron saint, who founded the area’s first Christian church in the early 7th century. St Mirin’s is rather more modern, dating to the 1930s, and it didn’t achieve cathedral status until the following decade. The interior is as bright and well-kept as the outside promises, with side doors open for visitors and worshippers daily.
