📌 Etal, Northumberland
★★

This short and easy circuit follows the River Till downstream from Etal village, exploring some of the other local scenic highlights (and lending an easy pun to this walk page’s name). In addition to the lovely river itself, there are a couple of ruined buildings to look out for: a medieval chantry chapel commissioned by the knight of Etal Castle, and an 18th or 19th century corn mill. The return is made via field footpaths, with the final section along roadside verges.
