πŸ“Œ Aberfeldy, Perth & Kinross
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

The hoary cliffs are crown’d wi’ flowers,
White o’er the linns the burnie pours,
And rising, weets wi’ misty showers
The birks of Aberfeldy.

Robert Burns

Rushing off the Perthshire moors south of Aberfeldy, the Moness Burn forms a series of impressive cataracts as it falls towards the River Tay. The gorge – known as The Birks – was immortalised in song by Robert Burns in 1787 and is still one of the more popular short walks in the area. It’s certainly an attractive spot, especially in autumn when the leaves are turning, though it’s worth waiting for a rainy spell to see the waterfalls at their best. Paths are steep in places – head into town for some recovery refreshments afterwards!
