📌 Borve, Harris
★★★

The road down the west coast of Harris passes a succession of stunning beaches. Some like Luskentyre are well known, but further south there are a string of gems well worth visiting. Tràigh Mhòr is our pick of the bays around the scattered settlement at Borve, with rock pools at the south end adding character alongside a carpet of perfect sand. It’s usually deserted thanks to the short but slightly awkward, unsignposted walk along the coast from the nearest car park. If this puts you off, check out our separate page on Tràigh Iar near Horgabost.
