If you’ve spent much time in Glasgow then this won’t be the first tenement block you’ve seen… but what about one decorated in early 20th century style? The National Trust for Scotland have preserved and restored four rooms in this end tenement to represent the period when fabulous independent woman and typist Miss Agnes Toward lived here from 1911 to 1965. The property is relatively small – tenements generally are – but there’s plenty to see, from the original furniture and working gaslights to 1929 plum jam and well-used balls of soap. The property is located to the northwest of the city centre and within walking distance of other central attractions – or use the nearby subway station.
