📌 Selkirk, Scottish Borders
★★★

The 100-foot spire of this former courtroom dominates the centre of Selkirk. Famous writer Sir Walter Scott spent his last 30 years working here as Sheriff of Selkirkshire, and a stone statue gazes town on passers-by outside the front entrance. Inside, you can view a mocked-up court in session, then read more about Scott and view some of his personal artefacts.
