๐Ÿ“Œ Perth, Perth & Kinross
โ˜…โ˜…

Perth Cathedral stands on the site of a former monastery on the north side of Perth‘s grid-like central district, and forms the centre of the Episcopalian diocese for the broad region encompassing St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane. Consecrated in 1850 (with work continuing for decades afterwards), it was the first cathedral to be built in Britain after the Reformation. The building is dedicated to St Ninian and its architect was William Butterfield, who designed other significant places of worship south of the border – including Keble College (Oxford) and All Saints, Margaret Street (London). The interior is an oasis of calm despite surrounding busy roads, and contains some fine stained glass windows, statues and carvings.
