๐Ÿ“Œ Kinloch Rannoch, Perth & Kinross
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

At 10 miles long and up to 130 metres deep, Loch Rannoch is easily the biggest of several lochs which lie in a ribbon along the Tummel river basin. As well as the usual Highland pursuits of fishing and boating, the area is famous for the classic view of Schiehallion, which appears as a perfect conical peak from this direction (particularly from the north bank), most unlike the lumpy profile visible from the actual hill path. A leisurely 23-mile cycle ride around the shoreline is a popular summer excursion, perhaps with an extension to the end-of-the-world Rannoch Station, several miles further west. But our favourite way to admire the sparkling waters has to be from a hike up Craig Varr: a knobbly crag close to the foot of the loch.
