📌 Gourdon, Aberdeenshire
★★

If you ever find yourself travelling along the A92 coast road between Montrose and Stonehaven with a little time to spare, the 18th century harbour at Gourdon is well worth a visit – along with both its pub and its fish and chip restaurant, according to reviews. Known locally as Gurdin, the village still has a working fishing industry and the quays are often lined with creels, backed by bobbing boats (at high tide, at least). There’s also a small maritime museum, though this was closed on our visit.
