Pronounced m-orangey, Glenmorangie is Scotland’s most popular single malt in terms of domestic sales. The distillery can be found just outside the old town of Tain, surrounded by trees turned black with ethanol-loving fungus. Even if you don’t have time to go on the excellent tour – or can’t get a space on one – the exhibition area is free and deserves a quick visit.
