📌 Glenfinnan, Highland

This tiny museum on Glenfinnan station platform contains interesting memorabilia about the West Highland Line – long considered one of the world’s most scenic journeys. The exhibits cover an area slightly larger than the signal box pictured below, but not much – so don’t come expecting to find a major attraction. The admission fee is suitably small. Steam trains calling at the station usually also stop for long enough that you can visit the museum before hopping back aboard the same service. If you have a little more time, excellent sandwiches in the nearby, stationary dining car, and a scenic path provides a link to the famous “Harry Potter” viaduct, forming part of our Glenfinnan circular walk.
