π Viewpoint near Loch Ness, Highland

The main road along the east side of Loch Ness passes right by the base of Carn an t-Suidhe. This hillock isn’t notable for its height, but the ease of the climb combined with excellent views along Stratherrick makes it a deservedly popular stop-off. Loch Ness itself isn’t really in view, though you can make out the U-shaped Great Glen to the north, in which it sits. At less than a mile’s round trip, the way up is so short that we’ve opted to categorise this on SOBT as a viewpoint rather than a proper route; in normal conditions, neither a map nor specialist footwear should be required.
