πŸ“Œ Melrose, Scottish Borders
β˜…β˜…β˜…

The best known walk starting in Melrose probably involves the Eildon Hills, but for something more relaxing head upstream along the River Tweed. There are good paths along both banks between two bridges: the 1826 Chain Bridge connecting Melrose with Gattonside, and the sandstone-arched Lowood Bridge carrying a B-road. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife too; as well as the expected waterfowl, we spotted an otter on our most recent visit.
