Invergarry is a small but strategically important village located where a main road to the Skye Bridge peels off from the one along the Great Glen. The few dozen houses, businesses and farms are scattered along the banks of the wide River Garry, which also forms the focal point for the local path network. This route heads upriver to White Bridge and beyond towards Loch Garry before returning a different way. There are good views of several rapids (popular with kayakers) particularly on the outward route – though their foaminess depends on the whims of whoever controls the dam outflow upstream. A second car park at White Bridge means the walk can be split in two if a shorter route is required – or indeed extended to take in Allt na Cailliche waterfall.
