If you’re spending any time in Glasgow‘s bustling West End, consider popping into the University of Glasgow’s main Gilmorehill campus on University Road. Founded in 1451, the university is the fourth oldest in the English speaking world, with the architecture to match. There are several grand buildings and courtyards, an atmospheric cloister / undercroft and beautiful chapel – all ideal for wandering around, either by yourself or as part of a guided tour. The excellent Hunterian Museum is also located here.
