π Brodick, Isle of Arran

Brodick is a village with a list of attractions as long as a giraffe’s neck, but they spread over quite a wide area, separated by main roads, rivers and fields. What if there was a walk route joining them all together? Look no further – this varied and popular circuit is only four miles in length, but could be stretched to fill a whole day if you paid a visit to all the other attractions it passes. Highlights include the island’s main heritage museum, a long sandy beach, the shopping at Home Farm, a brewery, tranquil pond, country park, standing stones… and Brodick itself, of course. Brodick Castle, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, is just off-route, but can be reached by a short, signposted detour from Cladach.
