📌 Ardnamurchan, Highland
★★★★

As the highest hill on Ardnamurchan and one of the few in the region with a decent path to the top, Ben Hiant is a shapely summit reached by an interesting, grassy ridge. The name possibly translates as Blessed Mountain, and the summit feels pretty close to heaven if the weather gods are smiling on you when you reach the top. Views encompass the whole of the peninsula as well as the neighbouring regions of Morvern and Moidart. Add in the islands of Mull, Muck, Eigg, Rùm and Skye and you have all the ingredients for an impressive summit panorama well worth negotiating the winding access road for.
