📌 Grantown-upon-Spey, Highland
★★

Anagach Wood spreads east from Grantown-on-Spey, filling the gap between the town and a wide loop of the River Spey. Capercaillie, red squirrels and crested tits all call this Scots pinewood home, though you’re very unlikely to catch a glimpse of the former. A number of waymarked trails explore the forest; this easy route starts from the edge of town and follows the Speyside Way through the trees, returning along the riverbank.
