πŸ“Œ Art gallery in Pollok Country Park, Glasgow
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

The Burrell Collection in Glasgow is one of the largest private art and history collections in the world: that belonging to Sir William Burrell and his wife Lady Constance. The couple donated 9,000 objects to the city in 1944, many of which are now housed in this modern building inside Pollok Country Park. The impressive collection is as broad as it is vast, spanning paintings, tapestries, pottery, sculptures and two millennia, with items from around the globe. Long-standing problems with a leaky roof have (hopefully!) been fixed by a multi-year, multi-million-pound refurbishment, and the gallery reopened to the public in 2022.
