📌 Saddell, Argyll & Bute
★★

This former Cistercian monastery can be found in the small hamlet of Saddell on the remote east coast of Kintyre. Founded in the 1140s century, little more than a few piles of stones remain, within a newer graveyard. Instead, this spot is notable mostly for its intricately carved grave slabs housed in a separate shelter.
