Robert Burns House is the last residence of the namesake figure, located on Burns Street (see what they did there?) in Dumfries town centre. The house is a simple and sparsely furnished one, but provides an interesting window upon the last three years of Burns’ life, including the desk and chair from which many of his works were penned. The house has been a bit of a pilgrimage site over the centuries, with past visitors said to include poets William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and John Keats.
