๐Ÿ“Œ East End, Glasgow

Dating to 1471, Provand’s Lordship is nearly the oldest house in Glasgow, though Provan Hall further to the east is probably a bit older. Originally a medieval hospital building, it later became a residential property and then even a 1920s sweet shop before coming under the protection of a trust and finally the city council. The house is currently decorated with 17th century portraits and furniture, and is worth looking around especially if you’re visiting Glasgow Cathedral or St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art across the road. Relax afterwards in the quiet St Nicholas herb garden at the back.
