πŸ“Œ Village on the Isle of Bute
β˜…β˜…

Port Bannatyne is Bute’s most northerly village, set around a horseshoe bay with views of Cowal. In this respect it’s sort of like the island’s capital, Rothesay, in miniature, and with far fewer shops and services. The marina is worth lingering at, but the beach marked on Ordnance Survey maps isn’t; instead, head to Ettrick Bay a few miles to the west for superior sand quality.

🚌 There’s are buses along Bute’s east coast, including from Rothesay and Rhubodach (and their respective ferry slipways), but Rothesay makes a much better base for public transport users.
