📌 Forres, Moray
★★

If the flag is flying, come on up! On top of Cluny Hill in Forres, the early 19th century Nelson’s Tower was built in memory of Admiral Lord Nelson and boasts superb views from the top, with Findhorn Bay and the Moray Firth easily in view to the north. 96 steps must be ascended to reach the viewing platform; that’s on top of the 50-metre ascent on woodland paths from Grant Park just to get to the monument’s base.
