๐Ÿ“Œ Old Town, City of Edinburgh
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Tucked away on a side street in Edinburgh‘s Old Town is perhaps one of the capital’s most underrated attractions: the University of Edinburgh’s Music Museum, and the adjoining Georgian venue of St Cecilia’s Hall. The music museum, which reopened in 2017 after renovation, contains over 400 of the university’s impressive collection of musical instruments, the main highlight of which is a world-renowned array of ornate harpsichords. Meanwhile, St Cecilia’s Hall is Scotland’s oldest purpose-built concert venue; dating from 1762, this intimate pink space still hosts regular recitals. We were the only people in the museum for the entirety of our visit – a good place to escape the high season crowds, perhaps?
