Lyrawa Hill, at the end of a signposted track branching off the road between north and south Hoy, is a one of the best spots from which to view Scapa Flow. The summit area is scattered with the remains of wartime defences: a poignant location when coupled with the graveyard of sunken vessels 100 vertical metres below.
