📌 Bellabeg, Aberdeenshire

🛠️ Gallery closed until further notice since February 2023 (checked April 2024)

There’s a secret hiding away in Glen Nochty, the minor valley branching off from quiet upper Strathdon, Aberdeenshire. The seriously remote, tiny Lost Gallery couldn’t be more aptly named – not only is it hidden away down increasingly obscure tracks, but the nearest collection of houses a few miles to the south really is called Lost. There is some irony in the fact that if you follow the oft-stolen road signs to Lost, you will be going the wrong way; fortunately, brown tourist signs to the gallery itself will get you there instead. Once you’ve arrived, a 19th century farmhouse showcases contemporary Scottish works selected by owners Peter Goodfellow – who is also an artist – and his wife Jean.
