πŸ“Œ Lossiemouth, Moray
β˜…β˜…β˜…

The sizeable former fishing port of Lossiemouth stands on a minor low headland jutting into the Moray Firth. Harbour aside, the town itself is a little disappointing – nearby Elgin appears to have sucked some of the life out of it – but its best features are on either side, where you’ll find two magnificent, sandy beaches. West Beach is probably the best known, stretching for over two miles west to Covesea Lighthouse and beyond; it’s also the start or finish to the excellent coast path to Hopeman via the Moray Coast Trail. Beachgoersarriving at high tide might be disappointed, so it’s best to consult tide tables before visiting.
