Lossiemouth’s East Beach is accessed from the town centre via a beautiful modern footbridge across the wide mouth of the River Lossie, replacing a rickety wooden structure in 2022. On the other side lies a superb strip of sand, backed by dunes sandwiched between the sea and the tidal estuary. The beach eventually tapers away to nothing as you venture further east towards Kingston and the mouth of the River Spey, being replaced by an extensive area of planted forest.

The rickety looking bridge has been closed since 2019 due to safety concerns, but the final section of the new bridge was installed yesterday and should be open soon.
