📌 Play structure in Alnwick, Northumberland
★★★

As visitors wander towards The Alnwick Garden, their eyes might be drawn to a curious cluster of towers on the north side of the approach path. Clad in green and pink hues that the Wicked franchise might have something to say about, they belong to Lilidorei: the world’s largest play structure, inhabited by Christmas-worshipping clans and the king who lives at the very top. The ten towers, six slides and numerous high-level walkways linking them all are aimed primarily towards primary school-age children, but the add-on ticket for young-at-heart adults already visiting the adjacent garden only costs a couple of quid. At ground level, there’s also a fairly extensive clan village, with several wonky buildings and sculptures concealed within a belt of Christmas trees.
