๐Ÿ“Œ Village on the Isle of Arran
โ˜…

Lamlash is the middle of Arran’s three main east coast settlements, strung out in a crescent shape around Lamlash Bay. Of the three, we think it’s the most attractive – particularly around the 19th century Hamilton Terrace cottages, where drivers arriving for the first time are likely to go “Oooh!” and pull off into the convenient car park adjacent in order to snap a photo. Lamlash also boasts the island’s administrative hub, its sole secondary school and only hospital, but tourists are slightly better catered for in Brodick, where the ferry from the Ayrshire mainland arrives. A separate ferry does depart from Lamlash though – to Holy Island: the mountainous, elongated island dominating the bay. The island gets its own feature pages (listed below) and is well worth a day trip.
