πŸ“Œ Lamb Holm, Orkney Isles

The Italian Chapel is a breathtaking building, and work of art, created by Italian prisoners of war housed here during World War II whilst building the nearby Churchill Barriers. The 500 prisoners wanted somewhere to worship and built the chapel out of old Nissen huts with limited resources. As for the interior, the pictures speak for themselves – visit early or late in the day to enjoy the wonderful painted ceilings in peace.
