πŸ“Œ West End, Glasgow

The art section of the famous Hunterian collection is found to the north of the University of Glasgow campus, on the other side of University Avenue from the other university museums. Half of the building is a “regular” art gallery, showcasing a superb array of Scottish works as well as art from further afield. The other half is more unusual: the Mackintosh House incorporates nearly the whole, painstakingly reassembled interior of architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Glasgow home – moved from its original location into a purpose-built building with identical dimensions and aspects to create the same room flows and natural light effects. There is a charge for entry to this part, and photography was not permitted here on our visit.
