Some waterfalls are easier to get to than others, but not many are as handily placed as Glen Nevis Lower Falls, found directly underneath the valley road as it crosses a bridge over the River Nevis near Polldubh. The main waterfalls are visible from the tarmac, but it’s worth clambering along the northern banks both upstream and downstream of the bridge for alternative views (care required above some big drops). There’s a bigger waterfall further up the glen – the majestic Steall Falls – but these Lower Falls are at the very least a pleasant prelude to the main event, also featuring in the 1995 film Braveheart.
