πŸ“Œ Elgin, Moray
β˜…β˜…β˜…

Glen Moray Distillery started producing whisky in 1897, in an unusually accessible location within walking distance of Elgin town centre – good news for public transport users. Many of the buildings are considerably more modern, and first impressions as you arrive at the top of the entrance drive might be unfavourable. Glen Moray is a relatively affordable single malt – in particular, the “Classic” expression sold widely in supermarkets is one of the cheapest around – and this description extends to the tour, which is amongst the best value in Scotland at the time of writing. The distillery’s large size (annual production capacity is around 2 million litres) and spacious layout makes for some excellent viewing opportunities. Then it’s back to the visitor centre for a couple of drams.
