πŸ“Œ Oban, Argyll & Bute
β˜…β˜…β˜…

Overlooked by a new housing development and edge-of-town playing fields… Ganavan Sands certainly isn’t your typical West Highland beach. But looking out to sea, there’s a wonderful outlook over the islands of Lismore and Mull – especially alluring at sunset on a clear day. The beach is only a few minutes’ car or bus ride (or longer walk) from Oban and there’s a surprising lack of sandy alternatives locally, but it still doesn’t seem to get too busy. A rough but enjoyable coast path to Dunbeg and Dunstaffnage Castle starts here, doubled by an inland cycle path.
