πŸ“Œ Dalmally, Argyll & Bute
β˜…β˜…

This prominent, granite memorial to 18th century Gaelic poet Duncan McIntyre stands on a low summit just to the south of Dalmally, Argyll. The hill is a small one but is a superb (and easily accessible) viewpoint for Loch Awe, Ben Cruachan and the hills north of Dalmally, with the uplands around the head of Loch Fyne also visible to the southeast on a clear day. It makes a fitting location for the monument; McIntyre was born locally and worked as a gamekeeper for much of his life, with the West Highland landscape serving as inspiration for many of his works.
