📌 Port William, Dumfries & Galloway

Stones: three. Fallen: two. Still standing: one. Chance of this remote historic site being overcrowded: zero. The stones at Drumtroddan were erected here over 4,000 years old, and their lichen-encrusted profiles are still an evocative sight even if partially prostrate. Like other early history sites across The Machars, the stones form part of a wider ancient landscape, also featuring the Drumtroddan Cup and Ring Marked Rocks.
