๐Ÿ“Œ Dores, Highland
โ˜…โ˜…

Dores is your first point of contact with Loch Ness when exploring it in a clockwise direction from Inverness. There’s not much to the village itself, although we can recommend the Dores Inn with its beautiful outlook over the water. But the adjacent stony beach brings tourist in their thousands, with a wonderful view along the loch towards Fort Augustus and the hill of Meall Fuar-mhonaidh. A key highlight for fans of the Loch Ness Monster is a camper van / kiosk on the beach belonging to Steve Feltham – a full time Nessie hunter. If you’re not a fan of crowds, arrive early or aim for Torr Woods at the far end of the beach.
