The remains of this turret on Hadrian’s Wall lie adjacent to the noisy and busy West Road into Newcastle, close to the junction with the city ring road. Nothing remains above ground floor level today, but a platform in one corner probably used to incorporate a ladder for access to an upper storey. A 65-metre section of surviving wall extends in both directions from the turret.
