Of the trio of recumbent stone circles strung along the B9119 to the east and west of Echt village, Cullerlie is probably the most interesting. This rather complicated stone circle comprises an outer ring enclosing several small cremation cairns; bones, pottery and flints have been excavated at the site. The circle lies on the open, marshy ground of Leuchar Moss with cows watching on from adjacent fields.
