๐Ÿ“Œ Mauchline, East Ayrshire
โ˜…โ˜…

Mauchline, East Ayrshire is the rural town in which Scottish bard Robert Burns spent half a decade during his thirties – a purple patch in his poetry writing career. The cottage where he and his wife used to live is now a museum displaying some of his original manuscripts, Burns artefacts, mocked-up living quarters and a (rather long) film about the man’s life. Across the cobbled street there are two further floors containing decorative boxes known as Mauchline Ware as well as curling stones – still produced locally out of Ailsa Craig granite.
