πŸ“Œ Dunbar, East Lothian
β˜…β˜…β˜…

Backed by salt marsh and sand dunes, Belhaven Bay is a magnificent and vast beach stretching for two miles between the River Tyne and the Biel Water. The far, west portion of the bay and dunes are closed off during tern nesting season, but that leaves plenty of sand to go around at low tide, even on the busiest of days. At the east end, the short Bridge to Nowhere (which looks a bit silly at low water) connects the bay to the western outskirts of Dunbar, the centre of which can be reached by a great clifftop walk from here. Behind the beach is East Links Family Park: a farm-themed attraction with adventure playgrounds, animals, “train safari” and plenty more – no doubt great for children.
