📌 Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire
★★★

If Cruden Bay village has been referred to as the Brighton of the North, then its beach must be the Scottish settlement’s equivalent of Brighton beach. And in this respect, at least, the Bay of Cruden has the upper hand; two miles of usually deserted sand stretching south towards Whinnyfold. Access is via Ladies’ Bridge over the Water of Cruden (men welcome too!).
