📌 Oldshoremore, Highland
★★★★

If the broad sands of Am Meallan are a little too busy for you, head a little further west to Bàgh a’ Phòllain. It’s slightly smaller size and less dramatic scenery makes it our second favourite Oldshoremore beach (this one is technically in Oldshore Beg, but lets not split hairs), but this along with a slightly longer walk from the nearest car park means that relative solitude is more or less guaranteed away from the highest of high season. (For a third beach which is quieter and smaller still, try Bàgh Sheigra, with access from the very end of the main road from Oldshoremore.)

💬 From the car park it’s a 10-min walk (each way) to the beach ( Easy). Continue along the main road until it ends, where a clear path continues across grass, gently downhill.
