Argyll’s Lodging is a 17th century townhouse in central Stirling, previously belonging to the Earl of Argyll. The building is currently undergoing fairly lengthy restoration, but when it re-opens, a guided tour is a worthwhile addition to a visit to Stirling Castle – entrance tickets include entry to both attractions. The interior boasts impressive public rooms including the grand drawing room and carefully painted dining room… but in the meantime, visitors have to be content with a peek inside the courtyard to take in the striking pink façade and ornate window lintels. Photos of the inside weren’t permitted on our last visit, though perhaps this will change once the house opens again.
