πŸ“Œ East End, Glasgow

If you ever find yourself with a spare hour or three in the eastern suburbs of Glasgow, Alexandra Park could be the perfect answer. Named after Princess Alexandra of Denmark, this green space has been enjoyed by city residents since 1870 and boasts views of Ben Lomond from its 70-metre high point on a clear day (apparently). Two ponds allow wildfowl-watching opportunities, while the Saracen Fountain doesn’t quite rival the one on Glasgow Green but looks pretty grand nevertheless. Rose gardens, a nine-hole golf course and some short mountain bike trails (with bike hire) round off the main attractions.
