This picturesque distillery offers one of the better visitor experiences on Speyside, on the edge of the attractive village of Charlestown of Aberlour. James Fleming began producing whisky here in 1880 and became something of a local philanthropist, also paying for a nearby hospital and a bridge across the River Spey. The distillery is now owned by Chivas Brothers; we like combining the tour and tasting with a short walk to the nearby Linn Falls – together making an excellent half day excursion.
