📌 Lochinver, Highland
★★★
Large woodland areas are rare in northwest Scotland, but Culag Woods on the south side of Lochinver is a notable exception. Over recent years the Culag Community Woodland Trust (who also created the trails at Leitir Easaidh) have developed an imaginative network of paths, sculptures and viewpoints, perfect for exploring in all weathers and suitable for all ages. The area is easily extensive enough to spend a few hours exploring – it’s worth using the hand-drawn map further down this page to help plan where to go.
